Odell Brewing Company Mountain Standard Black DIPA is classified as an American Black Ale, however, it is in fact a Black IPA. This beer is one that in Odell releases in the fall each year. I a fan of BDIPAs and am always on the hunt for a good one. Anyway, enough pros. Hope you enjoy the video, my written review and report card follows: Odell Brewing Company Mountain Standard Black DIPA WRITTEN REVIEW: A: Odell Brewing Company Mountain Standard Black DIPA pours pitch black with minimal hints of red when held up to the light with an off white 2 finger head of tight bubbles. Some glass lacing and plenty alcohol legs S: Chocolate, coffee roasted notes, sweet malt, citrus and big hops. All up in your face. Gotta like that! T: Follows the nose. Chocolate, coffee roasted notes, sweet malt, citrus and bitterness coming from the roasted malt an hops. No aroma taste at all. M: Medium body that is well carbonated. Very smooth mouth feel and is a very easy to drink. Alcohol is undetectable. O: Odell Brewing Company Mountain Standard Black DIPA is a GREAT representative of the burgeoning Black IPA Style. It is a very drinkable brew that is what a black DIAP should be, not to malty and not too bitter. I like it and hope that I can drink it again some day.
