Jandiala Sher Khan Baoli Historical Places in Pakistan Punjab Naveed Ghazi Vlog

Jandiala Sher Khan A beautiful and historical town of Sheikhupura district, located 14 kilometers north of Sheikhupura city Yes, the same Jandiala Sher Khan of Punjabi Shakespeare Waris Shah, if viewed historically, its historical background is even older than Sheikhupura and it was settled before Sheikhupura If viewed historically, no specific authentic historical documents are found except for a few lines in Tazk Jahangiri and Shahjahan Nama, which are limited to telling its name and location. Jandiala Sher Khan was an important city during the Mughal era, which Emperor Akbar had granted to one of his trusted servants, Sher Khan, as a fiefdom. It is said that Jund trees used to grow in this area, due to which it was named Jand Yala Sher Khan. In 1893, this town was separated from Hafizabad and merged with Khanqah Dogran, and later it became a part of Sheikhupura. The town is known for two famous places, one is the shrine of Pir Syed Waris Shah and the other is the baoli. A baoli is a deep well in which steps are built up to the water level and corridors and rooms are built around it, which remain cool even in the scorching heat. In the past, nobles used to rest here and thus spent the hot afternoons sitting next to the cool water. Usually, wells with steps (baolis) were necessary in the premises of historical buildings. Initially, they were used for construction work, but later they became permanent places of entertainment and rest. Wherever there are forts from the Mughal and Sher Shah Suri eras, these baolis are definitely found there, but most of the baolis and mosques were built by Sher Shah Suri, just like the great Jarnili Road was also the work of Sher Shah Suri. During the reign of Emperor Akbar, Sher Khan built a baoli on the orders of an elder Syed Ghaznavi, which met the water needs of the people here. On the steps of the baoli, Sher Khan also built an inn where local traders used to sell their goods to travelers going from Lahore to Kashmir. A mosque was built for travelers at one corner of the same baoli, which still stands today. The baoli is a rare example of Mughal architecture, with a large domed room in the center of its square building surrounded by eight small rooms, which have been interpreted as "Hasht Behesht" (eight heavens). The path to this baoli is the stairs in the north, on the arch of which a stone qutta was placed. On the roof of the baoli, there are five beautiful pillars, canopies or eight sides, which are decorated with domes and arches. The central courtyard is slightly larger, while the canopies at the four corners are small and of the same size. This is one of the few beautiful baolis in Punjab. Other Baulis are located in Rohtas Fort, Wan Bhachran, Dina, Attock, Bhimber Sarai Alamgir, Gujarat and Wah. Note: The mention and history of Pir Syed Waris Shah will be done in another Video ‪@naveedghazi‬ #naveedghazi #baoli #bawlyan #historical
