CES 2022 Canon's AMLOS Collaboration Tool is a Hit

Chris Chinnock here for Insight Media. I'm here at CES 2022 in the Canon booth and this is a live demo of their system. This is a new collaboration system that uses their 4K PZT camera which has is able to define three different regions of interest. So the remote user we're looking at the remote user here working with a collaboration run which is actually physically very close over here, but it could be in any location in the world. And they're doing a live demo of a collaboration of writing a story or a script at this point. So this remote collaborator here is able to select one of the three views and make that full screen or kind of tile it anywhere around within the monitor. What's particularly compelling about this is the region of interest can be defined. And it uses some upscaling capabilities to, for example that the inspiration note, which is would be fairly small in the 4k resolution image is actually upscaled by the software so it looks much better even if you put it for full screen. This region of interest capabilities been developed in the broadcast area as well specifically for PZT cameras. This is now an extension for remote collaboration because of the pandemic and the ability to use this in various creative and and other applications. It could be education. It could also be in broadcast, but it's kind of a very general purpose application. So far it's only been validated on their two 4K PZT cameras, but they've talked about also having additional cameras. For example the EOS R5 has an 8K sensor in which we make for improved image quality and less upscaling. And I'm told that is in the development road map as well. And I believe there's also an 8K PZT camera also on the roadmap. So very cool stuff here. Very, I think it's actually kind of a home run product for a lot of applications.
