I've rarely done that, opting for more interesting experimental stuff that you can really only get out of modular setups. Despite owning the G-Storm Electro SH-2 VCF module for a long time, I've been having major SH-2 GAS. There's much more to a synth than just the filter. It's the oscillators, envelopes, performance features, and other unique capabilities that give a synth its own identity and sonic character. After glancing at the SH-2's well-detailed owner's manual, I realized that I should have all the necessary components to build my own Eurorack version.
