United Wardrobe, the startup that got acquired by Vinted

In 2013 one of my fellow students Sjuul Berden came to me and told me his sisters had a problem: they simple had too much clothes and buying and selling was a frustrating process on the know channels like facebook, shops and our local Ebay Marktplaats.nl. So we created a solution: United Wardrobe, a social marketplace to buy and sell clothing. At the top of our game we had 55 full time employees, we raised €3.5M, and we sold 100k+ items every monthly through our safe system, which allowed buyers and sellers to have a secure payment. In oktober 2020 we got acquired by our Lithuanian competitor who shared the same mission as us: Making secondhand fashion first choice, worldwide.
