In this video, I’m sewing an entire winter capsule wardrobe using just one sewing pattern — McCall’s 8562 — and creating all five views to see just how versatile a single pattern can be. From cozy knits to structured winter fabrics, this project pushed me to think differently about fit, fabric choice, and repeating a pattern intentionally. I walk you through each of the five finished garments, sharing how I styled and modified every view, the edits and adjustments I made along the way, and what worked (and what didn’t). Using winter-appropriate fabrics like corduroy, scuba, double brushed knit, suede knit, ponte, de Roma knit, and corduroy, I transformed one pattern into a wearable, cohesive five-piece winter capsule collection. Along the way, I’m also sharing lessons learned from sewing the same pattern multiple times — from understanding fit more deeply, to choosing the right fabric for each view, to deciding when a pattern is truly worth repeating. If you’ve ever wondered whether sewing one pattern over and over again is worth it, this video is for you. Whether you’re interested in capsule wardrobe sewing, pattern hacking and modifications, or getting more value out of the sewing patterns you already own, I hope this video inspires you to HAVE FUN!, enjoy the non-linear creative process, sew with intention, and experiment creatively. 🧵 Pattern used: McCall’s 8562 🧵 Garments made: All five views 🧵 Fabrics used: Corduroy, scuba double brushed suede knit, ponte de Roma knit, and crepe de chine 🧵 Focus: Winter capsule sewing, pattern repetition, fit, fabric choice, lessons learned Find sewing supplies I LOVE in my Amazon Storefront: https://www.amazon.com/shop/rachelann...
