In pursuit of completing my 50-50 50 birding challenge, I go birding in the on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington. In Part 1, I visit the Puget Sound tidelands of Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge, watch for seabirds on the ocean and tour around a few locations in Grays Harbor. Can I get to 50 species on Day 1? What is the birding like at low tide on the Puget Sound? What seabirds do I spot flying out over the ocean? Watch and find out! The 50-50-50 Birding Challenge My travel/birding bug has got me headed in the direction of some new adventures! My quest? To see 50 birds in all 50 states by the time I’m 50 years old (2027). I’ve got quite a head start but there’s still a lot of travel and birding yet to come. Watch and find out more about how this challenge was born and what my plans are to complete it!
