War & Peace | Worthy of Her (Pierre & Natasha)

BEWARE /!\ SPOILERS OF THE SHOW AHEAD /!\ ______ Okay guys. Please don’t be mad. I can’t help it, I’m trash for epic romances with far too many obstacles and a sappy/happy ending that makes me tear up. I hope you will enjoy it. I want to make you all warm and fuzzy inside :D Pierre, you fool. You were always worthy of her. Also, I’m all for beautiful friendships blossoming into love. In retrospect, all of my ships are like this. So, yeah. Pierre and Natasha, everyone! From the novel War and Peace. My own take of the book is the following: rich people are BORED. Nothing to do but fornicate, drink, dance, challenge to a duel etc… that is, until Napoleon turns up, threatens the life of everybody and suddenly the safety of the children is at stake. The absurdities of war highlight the absurdity of men, who basically need to almost lose their life to learn that it is well worth living. Pierre is the perfect example. He is a good, gentle soul, but has yet to find a purpose to his very existence. I think this is what drew him to Natasha in the first place. She is vivacious, charismatic, kind and cheerful. She brings joy to all and finds solace in the smallest things, whereas he has to drink and sleep around to feel something. Anything. Both suffer from the deceit, lies and manipulation of the aristocracy before the conflict with the French (sorry XD) suddenly takes precedence. Natasha is his biggest ally through thick and thin. The feeling is obviously mutual. And so I summarised the big events of their story to demonstrate how much they adore and care about each other. Before even entertaining the idea of getting married. I find it very moving and rare to see a bond so strong between a man and a woman. It is very likely that I spoiled the entire romance to you. But before you start throwing rocks at me, I would like to point out that there are many other reasons to watch the show or read the book than those two. Also, the plot is 150 years old… XD I adored every second of the show and I hope you will give it a go. You won’t regret it. The music is enchanting, the costumes, the decors, the acting, everything is flawless. Also, ANDREW DAVIES!!! YES. THE VERY SAME WHO GAVE US PRIDE AND PREJUDICE IN 1995!!!
