Ferrous metals are those metals whose primary component is Iron. In today's video we will discuss about different types of of ferrous metals and their alloys. We will also discuss the composition of different ferrous metals and their properties with their uses. After watching this video Viewers will get the information about classification of iron. Iron can be classified broadly in 4 types; pig iron, cast iron, wrought iron and steel. In this video we will discuss the composition of above-mentioned types of iron and their important properties. Again pig iron can be classified in three types; grey pig iron, mottled pig iron, white pig iron. Cast iron can be classified in five types; grey cast iron, white cast iron, mottled cast iron, malleable cast iron and alloy cast iron. The main components of Steel are are iron and carbon. On the basis of quantity of carbon is Steel can be classified in three ways; low carbon Steel, high carbon Steel and medium carbon Steel. If we mix Nickle, chromium, vanadium, magnesium, molybdenum, tungsten, silicon etc. In steel then it is called alloy Steel. The the main types of alloy Steel are high speed Steel, nickel Steel, nickel Cobalt Steel, nickel chromium Steel, vanadium Steel, magnesium Steel, silicon Steel, Cobalt Steel and stainless steel.
