Driving Boulder's scenic Colorado 93 highway to Black Hawk Colorado. This is an easy and very scenic drive one hour drive. Even if you don't gamble, it's worth a quick trip. Black Hawk Colorado's least populated City. It started out as a Gold mining town during the Pike's peak gold rush days. Buffalo Bill once lived in Black Hawk during the gold rush days. Black Hawk started to dwindle in the 20th century until they opened their first casino in 1991. They current have 18 casinos operating in Black Hawk today. Black Hawk is also a quick trip from Denver and there seems to be plenty of charter/tour buses taking people to and from near by towns. If you're not into casino's, this route through the gulch is dotted with places used for rafting.
