[From "Kovacs Corner" on YouTube.com] - Not all of Kovacs' segments centered around satire or comedy. Here is a thematic clip showcasing lovely co-star Jolene Brand. We see her, her room mates, and their male suitors (Bobby Lauher and Joe Mikolas) in preparation for a romantic evening. The video display's Kovacs' sense of complementing the visuals with music, and a good dose of pathos. Starting at 1:13, Ernie musical selection for the piece includes George Gershwin's "Piano Concerto in F". [Updated September 2, 2010] I had just watched some of the video on YT recorded with the late Edie Adams suggesting that Ernie did not like to have "actors" as his supporting players. She indicated that Ernie felt that they "contributed too much" that distracted from Kovacs' conceptional ideas about his work. If this was true, I think that in the case of Jolene Brand, Ernie made a huge exception. Not only did she play with his comedy fairly well as we see in many of his other clips, but she is also giving a very strong emotional expression to this video's character. She was an accomplished professional actress in her own right, playing in episodes of TV's "Zorro", "Gunsmoke", and "Maverick" among others. FYI, she has been married to "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In" producer George Schlatter.
