The Queen Elizabeth Hospital is reporting significant progress in clearing the backlog of patients awaiting care at the Accident and Emergency Department. The update from the hospital's Communications Specialist Shane Sealy who explained patients were coming in with a variety of concerns. Yesterday the QEH issued an advisory urging patients with non-life-threatening issues to seek care at alternative facilities, as an influx of patients was resulting in longer than usual wait times. Mr. Sealy believes Barbadians have for the most part been heeding the advice not to visit the A&E Department unless in emergency cases. He's however reiterating that some people should consider seeing their private medical physician.
