Price Increase in Ploughing Services in Northern Ghana With the recent increase in Fuel Prices and the upward adjustment in prices of spare parts in the country, the Mechanized Agricultural Service Providers Association (MASPA) in the Northern Region has announced a Price increase in its Ploughing services for all farming activities in the Northern Regions for both tractors and combine harvester services for the 2021 farming season. Our Northern Regional Correspondent Noah Nash file this report. VO The new price adjustment for ploughing services by the Mechanized Agricultural Service Providers Association (MASPA) was announced in Tamale to takes an immediate effect for the 2021 farming season. The new price for ploughing an acre of a farm is now 85 cedis, 40 cedis for harrowing an acre and 300 cedis for combine harvester services for an acre of land. GhOne news interaction with some farmers in the Mion, Yendi, Chereponi, Zabzugu and Bimbilla districts revealed that farmers are paying 100 cedis or more for the tractor services depending on the District location, which is above the agreed prices announced by the Association. However, the Chairman of the Mechanized Agricultural Service Providers Association, Alhaji Salifu Abdul-Salam in an interview with GhOne News Justified the increment for the farming season noting that the price adjustment will afford members to get a marginal profit in the services they render. SOT 2: Mohammed Adam Nashiru, Commercial Farmer, Salaga VO A retailer of the Massey Ferguson tractor spare parts in the Tamale magazine said a lot of companies in Europe and Asia are not able to manufacture containers so us to ship spare parts because of the lack of containers for shipping due to the impact of the covid-19.
