In this webinar, (recorded on 12/01/2020) we will introduce integrated crop livestock systems and more specifically winter sheep grazing in vineyards. We will discuss the components of this agroecological practice, management and potential benefits to soil health and trade-offs to consider based on research and grower surveys. Bio: Dr. Amélie Gaudin is Associate Professor of Agroecology in the Department of Plant Sciences at the University of California Davis and Kelsey Brewer is a PhD candidate part of the research team. They are developing and testing sustainable management practices that have biodiversity and soil health as a basis for improvements. In particular, they have been exploring how diversification strategies, such as livestock re-integration into cropping systems, affects crop and soil mechanisms involved in building system sustainability and resilience.
