For many years we have focused on the different HWSC tools on the back of the harvester and what has become very apparent is the need to set up the harvester to ensure that the vast majority of weed seeds enter the HWSC tool. In this webinar, Peter Newman and Ray Harrington discuss the four stages of HWSC: 1. Get weed seeds in the front of the harvester 2. Get weed seeds out of the rotor – concaves/rotor speed 3. Keep weed seeds in the chaff stream – wind/baffles 4. Put weed seeds into one of the six HWSC tools We also discuss how to set up a range of machines to maximise weed seed capture.
