Mumbai Congress chief Varsha Gaikwad clarified her party’s stance after Bhai Jagtap’s remarks on alliances for upcoming civic polls drew criticism from the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) and Shiv Sena (UBT). MNS leader Yashwant Killedar slammed Jagtap, calling him a “cheater” and asserting that MNS never sought an alliance with Congress. Gaikwad said Jagtap’s views were personal and that the final decision rests with the party’s central leadership. Shiv Sena (UBT) also asserted it can contest and win alone.
