Was This Spanish Queen A Saintly Catholic Monarch? Or A Genocidal FANATIC? | Isabella I of Castile

Isabella I of Castile divides opinion depending on which side of her you look at. On the one hand, she was a devoted mother, a devout Catholic who worried about her subjects' souls even in the New World, and a steadfast queen who reorganised her kindgom into the basis for modern Spain. But she was also a controlling and cold mother, religious to the point of being unable to see past her 'mission' for God, and a queen who was organised enough to make the Inquisition into a highly efficient and deadly machine of the state. This video looks at all the different parts of Isabella, and we try to work out who the 'real' Isabella was...
