In this video, we put crimping to the test—literally. Using .454 Casull and a 300gr ACME Bullet Co. coated bullet, we tested three different levels of crimp: No crimp Standard/medium crimp Heavy/hard crimp Our goal? To see how each affects bullet movement under heavy recoil in a revolver cylinder. This kind of bullet creep or "pull" can cause serious issues in big-bore loads, especially when running hot loads in revolvers like the .454 Casull. We loaded, fired, and then carefully measured each round to see if recoil caused the bullets to shift forward in the cylinder.
