The past 9 or so months have been full of growth for me as an artist. As part of that growth, I did a project where I combined my love of dance, music, and acting by creating dance videos paired with covers of songs by some artists who have been influential in the next chapter of my own music. For the first video, my incredible dance partner and friend, Za (the better half of #Zasta), came all the way to Nashville to film a zouk number to my cover of Dead Man’s Arms by Bishop Briggs. We had three and a half hours to choreograph and rehearse this piece before running to the shoot. We shot the video in two hours on the ridge at Radnor. In March. And it was freezing. And I didn’t bring shoes so I hiked the whole thing in flip flops & ballet slippers. Za, I love you. Thank you for being part of this project and being so supportive through everything in my life. Austin, the final product you created in this video is better than anything I painted in my head. Thank you for being a dream creative partner, putting up with two dancers (and the “WiFi”) and hiking all the way out to film this at sunset. Graham, Joe, and Gabe thank you for putting up with me rapping G-Eazy, letting me smash a glass with a sledge hammer, listening to me ramble about New Girl... AND for working with me to create my version of a song I love. You guys rock!
