iGeek are starting to make a name for themselves as suppliers of gohigh quality tech products at good if not bargain prices. This new camera, model CT0261, seems to be living up to the reputation. Included in the rather unexciting box along with the camera itself was a wall fixing kit, UK power adaptor, wall mount with fixing kit, Ethernet cable, and an install Guide. The User Guide, is well printed and easy to read if rather brief. I enclose a scan of the guide on the end of my unboxing video. Set to full screen and pause as required to read it. A full Manual can be found on manufacturer's website, sricam dot com.com The build quality is good if not the best and feels robust, well made, and likely to be durable. On the front of the camera is the lens and large LED lamp array. On the back is the wifi antenna together with the Ethernet RJ45 port, micro SDS card slot and power-in pocket. Setting the camera up was easy enough using the suggested Sricam iOS or Android phone app. Download and run the app, set up a free account with the app, power up the camera and connect by Ethernet cable to your router. Using the app you can then scan for and identify the camera on the network and then input your home network wifi password as well as configuring the camera’s motion detection and other settings. Personally, I found it far easier just to connect the camera by Ethernet cable to my router and use my web browser to access the camera’s built in web control panel. Use admin/password to get access. This way you can fully configure the camera’s many more obscure controls including Motion detection, scheduling, etc. You can also download a Windows app, SricamPC to control the camera in addition to the phone app or browser. Using the phone app when an alert is triggered the camera will send out an email or in-app alert messages with snapshots as well as recording video or stills to the SD card or other locations. Unlike many new cameras there is no requirement to logon to a third party server or give out your email address when operating up using the web browser or PC application. Video quality is first rate and one of the best I have seen from an IP camera of this price for both daytime and nighttime use. The illumination from the built infra red LED’s a powerful and evenly spread There is an i/r cut filter to prevent colour distortion for during daylight use. This is a Pan/Tilt camera and from the phone, web browser, ot Pc you can control the camera motor allowing the lens to move on it's axis to survey the scene. It can do this manually or automatically to a schedule. Up to four viewers can access the camera simultaneously. The camera offers two way audio using the built in microphone and speaker which means it could be used as a baby or pet monitor if needed. This is a first rate IP camera robust enough for almost any external indoor situation and with a feature set above the price point. It has a few disadvantages and omissions but the £55.99 price, image and robust build quality still makes this a worthwhile buy. The Good Good price PC, iOS and Android apps available Good Build quality Well written User Guide Email and in-app alerts i/r Cut filter No access account, subscription or third party server needed Two way audio The Bad No SD card supplied No POE No 5Ghz network support Short power supply cable No cloud storage
