"Baclaran Day" refers to Wednesdays, which are dedicated to religious services at the National Shrine of Our Mother of Perpetual Help (the Redemptorist Church) in Baclaran, Parañaque. Devotees flock to the church on this day for the novena masses to the Virgin Mary, and many also take the opportunity to shop at the surrounding stalls. The tradition began in 1948, when the first novena mass was held on a Wednesday, and it has since become a significant weekly event. I walked from the Baclaran Church to Pasay along with some backstreet alleys, and finishing at the overpass on Roxas Blvd. Enjoy!
