Shore Side Progress — Popponesset “Big Dig” Dredging Project

Barnstable County’s dredging team has now placed approximately 52,000 cubic yards of sand from the channel along the Popponesset shoreline, extending roughly a half-mile from Wading Place eastward. Pastore Excavation continues to manage shoreline grading, building a wide berm that transitions from the dune down to the beach to improve resiliency and public access. With about five days of dredging remaining, the project is nearing completion. Thank you to all project partners for their collaboration and dedication to Cape Cod’s coastal infrastructure.
