#ilovecooking #dyslexicpersoncooking #lovinglivingpurpouslylovers Armenian Dolma Recipe (Sarma) Celebrating and honoring My Armenian Community 2 pounds calrose rice 1 cup olive oil 1 large onion chopped 4 large tomatoes (grated) 2 tbs dried mint 1 bunch fresh parsley finely chopped 1 1/2 cup raisins 2 jars grape leaves 1 to 2 lemons cut up rounds 1 cup olive oil for garnishing. The first thing we need to do is wash our rice and drain it Grate vegetables, onions and tomatoes Chop Parsley. Heat up a Pot I am using a Clay Pot , perfect for this dish. Add the olive oil and then add large chopped up onion, cook for about 15 minutes or until onions are translucent, then add tomatoes, tomatoes were juicy so i cooked for about 15 minutes, add parsley, raisins, add salt and taste, cook for about 3 minutes and add rice, give it a nice smooth mix but making sure not to break rice and cook for 3 minutes on a medium low heat then add pine nuts, also enough boiling water to cover the rice and let it simmer then cook for 3 minutes and turn the heat off ...Yes...After only 3 minutes turn it off. The Steam will cook it for 20 minutes so please do turn it off YES!!! Cover and we will be back in 20 minutes... after 20 minutes, transfer to a tray to allow the rice to cool down and then we will start stuffing our grape leaves. Transfer to a tray...let it cool a bit... we want to make little blankets, little burritos... if that makes sense... once done cover pot with leaves and add stuffed leaves nicely organized in line, slice up lemon in rounds, drizzle olive oil too and place the lemon on top and place a heat resistant plate as well, add enough boiling water to cover the dolma I used a large cup of boiling water on a medium heat, cook for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes we have our Dolmas, we have to let them cool down, refrigerate them and then you can add more olive oil on top, garnish with lemon...Enjoy!
