This mode makes you truly appreciate the virtues of classic marathon mode. Why would you ruin marathon mode like this? I honestly do not know because the result here is absolutely dreadful. Unlike the quirkier effects modes that are maybe a bit more difficult than they should be for SS rank, this one teaches you absolutely nothing useful. Cool. I know how to play slightly better when the screen and my controls are inverted. I will never use this newfound skill. Once I knew I was almost guaranteed to get the SS rank I began to play very conservatively because this mode has killed me a couple dozen times in the last month and this was my first time that had a good scoring pace AND a reasonably low stack towards the end. On one hand I feel bad because I'm not sure I would have met the SS rank without one of the All Clears I was gifted. On the other hand, I lost at least 2 Tetrises because they were taken out from under me by these stupid rule changes. SS Rank Should have been surviving this mode at 15 speed and had nothing to do with points. Survival proves plenty.
