Railfanning the CN and WSOR in cold and snowy Slinger, WI w/ SD75ACC leaders and more 01/02/26

I decided to head up to Wisconsin for the weekend and do some railfanning and other stuff. I went up to Slinger, WI on the CN Waukesha sub right at the junction with the Wisconsin and Southern Milwaukee sub. The CN Waukesha sub is part of the main from Chicago to Fondulac, Duluth, Winnipeg, and other Canadian destinations. Despite much of the route being single tracked with several sidings, traffic can be heavy. Much like the other spots on the CN, the variety is good with multiple EMD led trains including two led by SD75ACCs which were recently rebuilt from SD75Is. The Wisconsin and Southern had some action with one each direction from/to Horicon. Another big highlight for me was the fact that snow was on the ground. I hope to spend more time up in Wisconsin the coming year.
