Car Camping Alone on a Volcanic Mountain | California

I went on a car camping adventure in Lassen Volcanic National Park. This beautiful place offers a rare chance to sleep among steaming hydrothermal vents, crystal-clear alpine lakes, and all four types of volcanoes found in the world. I enjoyed the beginnings of a beautiful sunset at Manzanita lake, then I drove up the mountain for a more isolated experience. I marveled at the volcanic rocks, made some dinner, and relaxed looking up at the stars. In the morning I took a wild dip in the freezing cold stream. Then I drove to Sulfur works and experienced some stinky geothermal activity as I drank my morning tea. This was a great camp in one of the most beautiful places in California.
