Ancient gray stone buildings, narrow cobbled lanes, small artisan workshops and typical Tuscan trattorias. In the surrounding area there are places rich in history, castles and medieval villages, as well as charming routes for long walks. The first thing that pops into my head when I think of Cortona is the incredibly beautiful scenic view of the valley from the city's lookouts, and the beautiful Piazza Luca Signorelli and Piazza della Repubblica squares and the gray clock tower in the Palazzo del Capitano. Then there's the delicious Tuscan food and wine.
