On Wednesday we review books 🙆🏾‍♀️ . . . Today, on the first anniversary of Toni Morrison’s death I’m celebrating her complicated masterpiece Sula. A novel exploring loneliness (honestly one of my favorite topics) and the “in between” of humanity (A lot of characters in here were basura, but they were also a lot of other things too.) Also worth mentioning, my spoiler game is crazy in this review. . . . Last year when I found out she passed I laid in the bed a better part of the day like she was my Auntie but today it feels different. I could be completely romanticizing this but I feel like Toni lived exactly how she wanted to. I suppose that makes it easier to die. . . . Thanks to everyone who has become a patron!
