Today we tear into a bad transmission from a 2013 Dodge Dart. This is the Dual Dry Clutch Transmission, or DDCT from a 1.4L Multi-air turbo dart with 174K miles. This is from an abandoned car that came into my salvage business from a tow lot. Since we test everything we sell, I programmed a key for this car and once I got it started, WOW, did it sound TERRIBLE! I haven't heard anything quite like it. Flash forward a few months, and the transmission is out and here we are, tearing it apart to figure out why it sounded so badly. The failure here was very apparent, but what isn't apparent is WHY. There are a multitude of reasons as to why this happens, but being the first one of these failed this way that I've experience, I'll let you guys comment below to why this happened. Why did I tear this down? well, because I wanted to know how it failed, so I know why customers need them, and so I know what I'm selling will be a solution to their problem. My name is Eric and I own Importapart, a full service auto salvage business and we try to be as thorough as possible with our quality control, so when this came in, made the sounds, I knew I had to figure out why. As always I really hope you enjoyed this teardown. I love all of the comments, feedback and even the criticism. Catch you on the next one! -Eric
