Which you guys have been streaming SO MUCH WHAT?? I think we’ve hit a total of 4 MILLION STREAMS which is insane! Thank you thank you!! This song on the album is really important to me, I spent a lot of time early this year researching the life of Joan of Arc and how her story was manipulated and warped to fit others political agendas. I couldn’t help but wonder how much of her true authentic story actually managed to shine through to this day, was she a saint? A witch? Or a young girl hearing voices that weren’t there? Regardless the powers of the day saw a way to win their wars and she died for their wars at only 19. I hope this song shines a light on the tragedy of how women’s stories were manipulated throughout history to suit the patriarchal powers of the day. It wasn’t just Joan. There are so many women whose stories were erased or warped and we will never know the truth. I guess this song is quite mournful in that way, that we can grieve but will never truly know those we grieve for.
