Hello friends, This video is part one of a little series about the, how I call it, Opera gown. It came to its name, because it was once worn by the famous italian Opera singer Lina Cavalieri. My research showed me that this gown was probably worn in 1906 either on stage or to an event. I fell completely in love with this dress and it turns out it is quite a challenge, but I already learned a lot along the way. I hope you like this first rather boring video and stay with me on the journey of making this gown. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you did enjoy the video and haven´t subscribed yet, consier doing so to not miss any new videos. in two weeks I will share the next part of this dress If you´d like to help me fund different projects and help me to improve my videos, you can do so on Ko-Fi: https://ko-fi.com/thestyleofmarleen to see my portfolio visit: https://marlene-pein.jimdosite.com You can follow me on Instagram as well: https://www.instagram.com/thestyleofm... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As many of you have mentioned that they would like to start sewing, I made a little list of my favorite sewing tools and items, (Those are affiliate links, that means I get a small reward, if you purchase a product over those links, which flows directly into funding my projects as well as improving the quality of my videos) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Essentials: Pins: https://amzn.to/2tgA243 Fabric scissors: https://amzn.to/382FpTg Thread scissors: https://amzn.to/380BSEP 30 cm triangle ruler: https://amzn.to/2uMfDV3 Chalk: https://amzn.to/2FMtTPA copying paper: https://amzn.to/382bJp4 small wheel for copying: https://amzn.to/2RdhaL3 hem measure: https://amzn.to/2uJV0IY Measuring Tape: https://amzn.to/2tU1bts Hand sewing needles: https://amzn.to/35NXYJh Pattern paper: https://amzn.to/2FLhCuS Some extras used in the video: hooks and eyes small: https://amzn.to/2HsKfhh hooks and eyes big: https://amzn.to/39HUM43 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- My iron is simliar to this: https://amzn.to/36P2KHP but a much cheaper one will work for the start as well: such as : https://amzn.to/3a4cwrn My machine is the Singer 401G form 1959 ------------------------------------------------------------ Music: Heart of Nowhere von Kevin MacLeod ist unter der Lizenz "Creative Commons Attribution" (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/...) lizenziert.
