Whether you are looking for added driving confidence, more awareness of what’s around you, or just to feel more at ease on the road, the driver assist technologies in your Lincoln Corsair are all aimed at one thing, a better journey. Rob Willougby has been with Lincoln Nanaimo for 19 Years and today he will take you for a ride in a new 2021 Lincoln Corsair Reserve and go through some of this technology and how it can help prevent accidents and make driver better. When parking and maneuvering, the Lincoln Corsair has a wide range of safety tech available to help you. A 360-degree camera and forward and reverse parking sensors help when maneuvering around other vehicles and obstacles. When backing out of parking stalls, it’s often hard to see approaching vehicles because of vehicles parked next to you, but Cross Path Alert uses rear sensors to warn you of approaching vehicles that you might not be able to see. When reversing an audible alarm warns you and, on the dash, it tells you which direction the other vehicle is coming from. These safety features can prevent costly fender benders in parking lots and other areas. Blind Spot monitoring lets you know of vehicles that are traveling next to you that you might miss. A solid lit amber light in your side view mirror lets you know a vehicle is in your blind spot and when you signal to change lanes, the amber light blinks, warning you it is not safe to change lanes. It can even warn you about hard to see cyclists and motorcycles. Adaptive cruise control with Stop and Go automatically adjusts your speed when approaching slowing moving vehicles and will even come to a complete stop and start again once traffic starts moving. Lane centering technology will make sure you are staying in your lane and not accidentally drifting while driving. Added to this great feature is a built-in safety feature, where if your hands fall off the wheel in an emergency situation, like falling asleep, the Corsair will slow down and then stop at the side of the road. In a worst-case scenario where your Lincoln Corsair detects a collision, there is Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), that includes Pedestrian Detection, Forward Collision Warning and Dynamic Brake Support. This is such a helpful safety feature that ICBC will give you a reduction in your insurance when your vehicle is equipped with Automatic Emergency Braking! Of course, all these safety features are to help and not to replace the care and attention needed when driving, they are there to help. But there is no doubt that these features help to prevent accidents and save lives. So come take a ride with Rob in the Lincoln Corsair to learn more about this great safety technology.
