Hi, I’m Torte de Lini. Let’s talk about why N’aix is one of the most popular successful Pos 1 Carry this patch and what makes him so strong in general. He’s got a great 55% winrate on Dota2ProTracker and shuts down a lot of rivaling carries like Shadow Fiend and Terrorblade and it’s all thanks to his Gorestorm and Aghanim’s Scepter. This is exactly why Lifestealer is so good right now. He’s still the same solid carry you know and love but with the recent buffs to Gorestorm across 7.39 and 7.39b, the hero can play both proactively with mid-game map-pressure OR he can passively farm if there are no opportunities. Gorestorm facet is basically a nuke at level 6 that now gives Lifestealer incredible opportunity to take a fight and deal massive AoE damage while also being able to initiate with an Ancient creep, no longer relying on an initiating support like Spirit Breaker or Bounty Hunter. Everything else about Lifestealer hasn’t really changed. He’s still a fantastic laner, especially when paired with another ranged slowing support like Dazzle or Jakiro. But the Gorestorm facet, effectively gives Lifestealer a level 6 tool to push back against Offlaners like Centaur, Magnus or Mars and have the damage both from his Infested Ancient as well as the Infest nuke from Gorestorm. That Gorestorm damage is scaling based on the Infested creep, so you can end up doing something like 300-400 damage on any target while also closing gap on them with the increased movement speed. So all this effectively gives Lifestealer a massive jump in gold and experience with these early-game map-pressuring kills to get his Radiance fast and build his typical items. What’s more is that with a Black Dragon Ancient, you can take down stacked jungle camps with his Fireball ability, so it’s quick-farming for a hero that needs Radiance to do that kind of camp-clearing speed. Alternatively, I also like the Prowler for easy lockdown or the golem has the most HP, so you massive damage when you pop out with Gorestorm infest.
