The graves of Charlotte Brontë (1816-1855) and Emily Brontë (1818 - 1848) - Authors St Michael and All Angels Church, West Yorkshire, England. Charlotte Brontë (21st April 1816 – 31st March 1855) was an English novelist and poet, the eldest of the three Brontë sisters who survived into adulthood and whose novels, including Jane Eyre and Villette, became classics of English literature. Emily Jane Brontë (30th July 1818 – 19th December 1848) was an English novelist and poet who is best known for her only novel, Wuthering Heights, now considered a classic of English literature. Charlotte died on the 31st March 1855 in Haworth at the age of 38. Emily died on the 19th December 1848 at the age of 30. Charlotte and Emily are both interred in the Brontë family vault inside St Michael and All Angels Church, West Yorkshire, England.
