Anorexic actress Rachael Farrokh raises $178,000 online for treatment - TomoNews

SAN CLEMENTE, CALIFORNIA — Thirty-seven-year-old Rachael Farrokh, currently weighs just a little over 40lbs, and has been battling anorexia for more than 10 years. Farrokh used to work as an actress. Her anorexia got out of control after she lost her job as a senior account executive some 10 years ago while she had to deal with some personal issues, ABC News reported. “I was this doe-eyed girl that was just graduating college in a failed atmosphere, and I was also going through trauma from my past. It was the perfect storm,” Farrokh told ABC News. Farrokh met her husband Rod Edmondson, a personal trainer, at a gym where she used to frequent, according to ABC News. After Farrokh’s health worsened, Edmonson left his job to be her full-time carer. Edmondson set up a Go Fund Me page with a video on YouTube asking for people’s help to raise funds for her wife’s recovery. The couple has raised $178,000 in just under a month time. The money will be used for Farrokh to get specialised treatment from the ACUTE center for Eating Disorders in Denver.
