The Rescue, Expedition & Disaster Medicine (RED MED) course is for healthcare professionals and humanitarians working in, or aspiring to join, rescue, expedition, wilderness, humanitarian and disaster response teams. Including the clinical and non-clinical competencies to improve provider safety and best practice in clinical care in remote, limited-resource and austere environments. Following the flipped-classroom approach, we provide comprehensive self-paced distance learning to support rich discussions between all levels of healthcare professional and humanitarian, enabling us to employ interactive, high-fidelity scenario-based training in-context. With tropical medicine delivered in-context while camping in or rafting through the jungle, altitude medicine scenarios while trekking and climbing in the Himalaya, the course has something for everyone.
