Dhenkanal gang rape case: Four accused arrested after 21-year-old woman lodges complaint in Bhuban

A serious crime has been reported from Dhenkanal district, where a 21-year-old woman lodged a complaint alleging that she was gang-raped by four persons. The complaint was registered at Bhuban Police Station. Acting swiftly on the complaint, police conducted raids at multiple locations and apprehended all four accused. According to Officer-in-Charge Renubala Sahu, the suspects were subjected to medical examinations and will be produced before the court following due legal procedures. As per the survivor’s statement, she had been supporting her family as a daily wage labourer after her mother’s death, helping raise her four younger sisters. It is alleged that youths from the same village exploited her vulnerable situation, threatened her, and committed the assault. Police have confirmed that further investigation is underway.
