🇦🇹 THE LARGEST Masjid MOSQUE IN VIENNA, AUSTRIA (2022)

This is the largest Mosque in Austria. Located in the 21st district of Vienna in a quiet neighbourhood (about 20 minutes drive from the main train station). We went there for the Du'hr prayer, the whole area was surrounded by some large trees and beautiful landscaping. There is a large green dome at the center of the Masjid and next to it is an Ottoman style Minaret. There are a lot of seating areas outside, where you can relax and enjoy the calm atmosphere. Once you go inside you will see a large modern reception area that leads you towards the main prayer area, downstairs for male and upstairs for female. The interior was done very tastefully, white walls and ceilings without any kind of calligraphy. I liked the 11th century style Minbar right next to the Mehrab. The planning for this Masjid started in 1968. But due to financial issues, the construction was delayed several times and finally started in1977. The 1st Azan was heard on November 11th 1977 and the Masjid was officially opened for the public. The final phase of construction was completed on 26th April, 1979.
