MIT Alumnus Professor Aly El-Shafei will give a talk followed by a Q&A session on Restructuring Science and Technology Governance in Developing Countries. Abstract: There are many similarities about science governance in developing countries: lack of support for scientists, dysfunctional funding systems, poor science education, science irrelevance to politicians, and lack of impact on society.
