The game of basketball was like a war zone. Michael Jordan dropped 55 points, that game, also eliminating the New York Knicks, later that year in the NBA Eastern Conference Finals of 1996. Michael Jordan’s “Double Nickel” 55-point game vs. the Knicks was in March 1995, regular season, right after he came back wearing No. 45. The Bulls actually eliminated the Knicks in the 1996 Eastern Conference Semifinals, after Chicago finished 72–10 that year and went on to win the championship. Not only did Michael break his own record of most points scored at Madison Square Garden(previously 51), but he did it against one of the best defensive teams in the league of the 1994-95 season. Ironically, after scoring 55 points, Jordan won the game by passing to a wide-open Bill Wennington for an easy dunk in the last seconds of the fourth quarter. In only his fifth game after retirement, it was safe to say Michael Jordan was officially back! On Mike's feet for this infamous game were, of course, the Air Jordan X "Chicago".
