Barrow Bridge is a model village located on the outskirts of Bolton, Lancashire. It was built around 1830 during the Industrial Revolution to house workers from the local Dean cotton mills. Dean Mills were two six storey steam powered cotton mills that harnessed it's power from Dean Brook. The cotton mills were demolished in 1913. Barrow Bridge chimney still stands close by as a testament of the local industrial era, along with the charming cottages that overlook Dean Brook. In the video, you can also see the The Keystone of the Engine House at Dean Mills which remains at the site where Dean Mills stood and also, at the other end of Barrow Bridge, a flight of 63 steps villagers would use to travel up onto the moors to reach the quarries and coal mines.
