The lives and works of Mac Alister and Praeger

Video recordings of the Seminar held at the Uisneach Visitor Centre 6 September 2025 to mark 100 years since the excavation led by MacAlister and Praeger commenced at Uisneach. The first talk was delivered by Ruth Illingworth Local Historian, Author, and Tour Guide on the Hill of Uisneach. Ruth looked at the lives and works of RAS Mac Alister and RL Praeger. The second talk by Archaeologist Dr Roseanne Schot, outlines the findings of the excavations undertaken by Mac Alister and Praeger at Uisneach as well as more recent work carried out on the Hill, including the geophysical surveys that she worked on. The talks were filmed by CrossCut.ie. The seminar and filming were funded by the Commemorations Initiative from the Department of Culture, Communications and Sport.
