What if I built my house in a spruce forest? What about a desert? Do I need to build a mega base? Or can my starter house be my permanent home? Even in the world of Minecraft, our inner voices are telling use that we need more than what we already have. The desire to improve. This can be a good thing. It gets us out of our comfort zone, and let's us experience the world in a whole new way. But as with everything, there's a balance. The need to constantly improve can be overwhelming. Sometimes it's okay to stay where you are for a bit and enjoy it. Loving where you are now can give you a whole new perspective on where you need to be and who you need to become. I faintly remember the first video that I watched about Minecraft shaders. SEUS (Sonic Ethers Unbelievable Shaders). Back then I didn't have a pc or a console I could play on. All I had was my phone, a Galaxy S3 I think. I remember trying everything in my power to download shaders that even faintly resembled the SEUS shaders. There weren't any. Sometime in 2018, I got an external GPU for my Macbook. I was finally able to experience Minecraft shaders. I loaded up a world with Sildurs Vibrant Shaders. I was greeted with a sunrise in an acacia biome. It was something. I remember immediately grabbing my little brother to show him. He was also awestruck. The game we loved looking more beautiful than ever before. After that though, anytime I played Minecraft, there was this inner voice telling me that there has to be better shaders out there. Something out there that might make the game even more beautiful. And there was. There is. But I was never satisfied. What I failed to realize is that the game is beautiful, with or without shaders. The game is still the same whether or not there's a fresh coat of paint. You don't need a fresh coat of paint to know that you're good enough. 🫶🏼 If you read all of this, I appreciate you 💛 ...
