Right underneath the sand of the dunes of Blåvand, connected to the old Tirpitz bunker, an unusual underground museum tells us unknown stories from the life at the Danish west coast through time. Of course, we had to take a closer look at this. So we met Claus Kjeld Jensen, director of the Varde Museums. He tells us about the idea behind the museum, its architecture and its stories. Furthermore, Helle Ølgaard shows us around the exhibitions. She is the daily manager at Tirpitz and gives us loads of background information about life at the Danish west coast over time. Our conlusion? It is not to be missed. Through interactive and engaging exhibitions, where multimedia story telling turns the museum experience into a 21st century, modern adventure, the Tirpitz Museum takes its visitors on a unique journey to the past.
