http://www.vouchercodespro.co.uk Hi and welcome to another guide to spending, eating, playing and living smart from me, Emily Leary and Voucher Codes Pro. Today I'm going to share with you some simple steps to save while you spend. And by that, I mean everything from getting a cheaper deal when you buy, to finding ways to put cash back into your pocket every time you shop. Now depending on which study you believe, the average consumer has somewhere between £50 and £400 in unspent loyalty points just lying dormant and in some cases, expiring unused. What a waste! So step one, get out those loyalty cards, apply for replacements for those ones where you know you have them somewhere and check what you've got saved up. It could be so much more than you think, and keeping track of your loyalty points when you shop means you can use them to offset the cost of essentials or bag yourself a little treat. But did you know you could be saving TWICE every time you shop at the till? You could if you switch to a credit card with cash back. What this means is for each transaction you make, they set a small percentage to give back to you at the end of the year. Now this one takes discipline, there's absolutely zero point spending money on a credit card to get cashback if you are then going to forget to pay it off before the deadline and end up paying a hefty interest fee. So, set yourself up with a Direct Debit, choose the 'pay in full' option, and you could have a nice annual bonus of up to 5% with no costs attached. Ok, next up, want a new mobile phone? Don't do what most of us do which is order a new one on a new tariff and stick the old one in a drawer -- what a waste! Head down to your local store -- Carphone Warehouse will help you there and then -- and trade in your old phone for cash! Or if you've no time to get into a store, there quite a few sites online that will not only buy your old phone, they'll send you a bag to post it in and they'll transfer the funds direct into your bank -- it couldn't be simpler. And as phones depreciate in value the older they get, it's well worth selling up your old phone as quickly as you can once you get your new model to help maximize your savings. And finally, of course, there are always great savings to be made if you go on the hunt for a voucher code before you hit 'check out' on any purchases. Sometimes you might get free delivery, sometimes it might be a free gift or a decent discount on your purchase. Whatever you get, it simply makes sense to hunt for a code to help you shop smarter. That's it for now. Thanks for watching and, as ever, let me know in the comments if you have any of your own tips to share.
