EMD G8's to the Murray - Two T's to Tocumwal tour: Australian Trains
On Saturday 10 February 2001, Steamrail operated a diesel hauled day tour to Tocumwal on the NSW side of the Murray river. For something a bit different, the train was hauled by two Clyde/GM EMD G8 "flat top" T classes from SRHC and the T413 preservation group. The train departed Melbourne with Steamrail's own S313 leading T413 to Seymour, where the S was swapped for SRHC's T320 for the journey to and from Tocumwal. T320 was again swapped for S313 on the return journey from Seymour to Melbourne. The footage in this video was mostly filmed at photo stops, something which has not occurred on the mainline in Victoria since 2004. © 2001 James Brook
