Hacking My Studio Setup with AI - I’m Done Producing with a Mouse & Keyboard.

Now I’ll never be producing music the same way again. I took my MIDI controller, the Faderport 16, and completely transformed it using AI. I used Chat GPT to code a custom MIDI Remote script for Cubase that lets me control almost all of Cubase with the Faderport. I’ve literally replaced my mouse with faders. When this project started, it was about finding my creative freedom and breaking down the barriers between how fast I could come up with musical ideas in my head, and the time it took to actually translate those ideas into real music in Cubase. It's the silent friction of connecting ideas and imagination to technology. There's a disconnect between our mind and the tech we use to write, produce, and listen to music. It's like a gate that stands in between our thoughts and the digital world, but we are so intertwined in that digital world now. In a way I’m taking a small step back, but also a big step forward. It's a step back from the current way I interact with the digital world, the mouse and keyboard, and a big step forward into a more natural way to create and produce music.
