Another offering that was held during Tokyo Disneyland’s 10th anniversary was a special stage show known as “It’s Magical!” which opened in 1992 and ran for about a year. This stage show was held at the Cinderella Castle Forecourt Stage. This show had a similar plot to Fantasmic! In the show, Maleficent storms the 10th celebration and steals all the color from the flower fairies. It’s up to Mickey to battle Maleficent to restore the color. Fun Facts: The show’s main theme was reused by Disneyland in 2009 for their former firework Spectacular, under a similar name, “Magical!” If the show’s soundtrack sounds familiar to anyone (Epcot fans in particular), it’s because Epcot actually used this soundtrack for their defunct show “Splashtacular”. The show actually had a similar plot where Mickey had to defeat a space villain to restore the water in the fountain of nations. The show’s main theme was also re-recorded as some of the lyrics had to be changed to remove any reference to Tokyo Disneyland’s 10th anniversary. The show also featured many of the costumes (doubles were created) used in “It’s Magical!” Although Splashtacular also opened in 1992, it was not well received and many prefer “It’s Magical!” instead.
