Nikolai Kapustin (1937-2020) Capriccio, Op. 146 ( for piano, 4 hands) Piano: 西本 夏生 Natsuki Nishimoto(primo), 川上 昌裕 Masahiro Kawakami(secondo) Recording dates: 19 October 2025 filmed live at Kapustin Festival 2025 in Yokohama, Japan The piano duo pieces, "Triptych, Op. 145" and "Capriccio, Op. 146" were composed in 2012, and Nishimoto received handwritten copies of the scores from Nikolai Kapustin himself. Kawakami, who performs with her here, was also dedicated two solo pieces (Op. 137 and 138) by Kapustin, and has given the world premiere of over 40 of Kapustin's works. These two Japanese pianists, who have been passionately promoting Kapustin's music since 2000s, finally performed together for the first time. The original score was used for the performance. A newly edited score of "Capriccio op.146" was published by Schott in 2023.
