After what seemed a very long wait the South Fylde Line opens on time 29th January 18 for trains to run once more. New aspect signalling, cut back vegetation and new communications are just some of the work carried out on this single track line. 29th Jan 18. At last minute they sent a test set down about 0400 so really this is the first passenger train since the work carried out over the Winter but the second train to run on the rails. The rails have not been used for a while so they are quite rusty thus drivers report it's a slippy affair for a while. I'm sure they will do well and good regards to all the Northern staff and to the staff who have worked hard on the line getting all the preparations and repairs completed in time. Nodrog ©️
